Think about the last time you had a question you would normally have typed into Google. Did you ask ChatGPT or Claude instead? If you did then you’re part of the reason that online marketing will never be the same according to our guest this week, Martin Bertilsson.
Martin has spent more than 26 years in e-commerce and online marketing, including 15 years as a director at Google working on advertising technology. Originally trained as a Swedish IT lawyer, he’s now co-founder of AIMSOO.AI, a service that helps small businesses show up in AI search.
He also runs Asia Pacific’s largest meetup community for people interested in how AI is changing marketing and advertising.
As you’ll hear, Martin knows online marketing inside out. And if you’re curious about how marketing is forever changing you’ll learn:
- How Google’s share of search has already dropped dramatically
- What ‘zero clicks’ means, and why it’s upending online publishing
- Why your business may need a shadow website just for bots
- Why customer reviews may not be all they’re cracked up to be in an AI and GEO future, and . . .
- Why brands may soon have to pay to be on AI-recommended shortlists.
Martin’s view is that marketers now have two completely different types of audiences to influence: humans and non-human bots or agents, and they each require a very different approach.
So whether you work in marketing or you’re just curious about how AI is changing the way we all find and buy things, there’s a lot here to think about.
Enjoy this episode with the knowledgeable and entrepreneurial Martin Bertilsson.
